Have you ever awakened as if from a dream and realised you have wasted your life?
I have, several times, then I reform for a while, commit to living each new day as a miracle. Decide to help humanity, etc etc etc. Then I gradually slip back into my self-induced coma of distractions and TV.
I want to break the cycle. I want to live each day for the eternity of moments that it is, and not just another in a finite progression of days till I die. I want to walk barefoot in the forest and learn from the animals.
I want to do more than simply exist, I want to live. Every moment.
I have made one discovery. Our biggest hinderance to truth is unrest. When we have unrest in our hearts and our minds, we cannot see the truth. Only when we slow down and become at peace. Today is the day that I am alive, not yesterday and not tomorrow. I will enjoy this day for what it has to offer and learn the infinite lessons that God has for me today. I do not have the power to break the cycle, but I do know how it begins. When I trade my peace for something else.

I cannot understand this peace according to Paul. But I can live there, it is a free gift. I accept the Gift, and am thankful for it. I need no other goal than to be at rest and let God unravel my life before me.
