Imagine all the people choosing to live the life Jesus taught. Love thy neighbor, pray for those who hurt you, bless those who curse you.
Lay down your life for those who would take it. Trust that God can either save you or raise you back.
John Lennon was right about one thing, it starts with you. He missed the point about Jesus being the answer, but that’s ok, I liked him anyway.
When I was younger someone told me I could ask God for anything and he would answer as long as it lined up with his will. I prayed for rain (I think I was 5) and it rained. Thats what I am told, I do not remember, my mother tells me she saw me on the porch on a sunny day in boots and an umbrella, and they asked what I was doing. I said “Waiting for it to rain” and they laughed within themselves, but then I hear that it rained that day. All I know for sure, is THAT is faith. What is God’s will? That you become like Jesus. Ask for it, then do your best to be like him, and allow him to change the parts that will not allow you to do it.
You want to change the world? Be like Jesus. How can you be like Jesus? Ask God and do your best. It may take time, and you may never fully succeed, but you WILL get closer, and the more people that choose this, the more we can achieve the dream that Lennon had, which I liked. A brotherhood of man.
Imagine all the people, living life in peace. It starts with you. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall see God. (It starts with me as well)
Right now my life is turning completely upside down, and I am not completely blameless, but still I have some pain and loneliness and some of it has to do with events that I cannot control. But you know what? Instead of trying to fix my life, I am just going to trust God and walk the path. I forgive anyone who has hurt me, and beyond that if they ask me for help, I will give it.
Open my eyes Lord, I want to see Jesus, I want to be more like him. Jesus, make me like you.
